The Committee and members of OSSAA extend their congratulations to Ruth on being awarded a Medal in the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Ruth was one of the original members of the teams which were started by Dr John Hargrave AO MBE.

Her Citation read

Ms Lovely Ruth BOVEINGTON,  Stuart Park NT 0820                                         

For service to international humanitarian aid projects.  

Volunteer Interpreter/Trip Coordinator, Overseas Specialist Surgical Association of Australia, since 1996; has organised and coordinated 100 surgical teams and participated in 50 clinical visits to Nusa Tenggara Timor, Papua and Timor Leste as coordinator and interpreter.
